Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

The post holder holder will have responsibility for the development and leadership of
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Continuous improvement
Strategy, including both the day to day delivery and the shaping of the vision and
development of the approach.
A high level of improvement expertise will be provided to the Trust, enabling the
implementation of a sustained and embedded approach to continuous improvement.
As part of the senior leadership team, the post holder will support the Executive of the
Trust, in the delivery of plans, strategies and service changes to meet the purpose aims
and ambitions of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The creation of strong and meaningful engagement with patients, the public and staff is
critical to this post to grow the understanding of impact of service delivery and inform both
immediate and future improvement priorities.
As an expert in system wide quality improvement, the post holder will drive and influence
improvements across the health and social care economy, primarily focusing on right
patient, in the right place at the right time to drive people centered excellent care with
compassion.
