Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents – it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.

Our strategic vision for 2020 is:

As a high performing Trust, operating as part of an integrated care system, we will provide high quality, safe and effective care. This will be achieved in a financially sustainable way, through our skilled and motivated workforce”.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals encourages flexible working in all our roles to support staff in maintaining healthy home-life balance.  Working patterns such as; part time working, self-rostering, compressed hours, annualised hours, term time, reverse term time and flexitime working can be explored.  We encourage applicants to state clearly on their application forms this request and discuss these options at interview

Due to expansion of our cardiac services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for five, full or part time, band 5 posts on the Coronary Care Unit, within the Lancashire Cardiac Centre.

This is to join our small, but experienced, friendly & highly motivated team.

Coronary Care is a 10 bedded unit offering emergency care to cardiac patients within the local & wider area, including an established PPCI service.

Experience is not essential as successful applicants will receive an eight week supervision period with an assigned preceptor. Newly qualified & return to practise nurses will benefit from the trust 12 months preceptorship programme.

We require passionate and motivated individuals who have an interest in Cardiology.
