Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. The Lancashire Cardiac Centre is a tertiary cardiac provider for the people of Lancashire & Cumbria. The centre has a well-established invasive and non-invasive services covering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, these include;
Cardiac angiography & intervention, including Primary PCI, TAVI, ASD/PFO closure, device implants including ICD’s and CRT’s, device follow-ups, EP simple and complex, including NAVX, PVAC and CRYO. Echocardiography, including TOE, contract/bubble and DSE. All these areas are developing rapidly with new technology;
Due to promotion an opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Cardiac Physiologist in the Cardiac Investigations Unit. Candidates should have good experience in cardiology procedures and be willing to progress their career in either Echocardiography or Pacing and Electrophysiology. Applications from students studying Healthcare Science (Cardiology) considered.
We are looking for Physiologists who will relish the challenge of being part of the team that will be taking our department forward into the future. The post holder will possess BSc in clinical physiology or equivalent and be on the RCCP register
As a multidisciplinary department the successful candidate will be expected to work unsupervised in most areas and developed in the field of speciality. Candidates who may lack experience in some areas will be provided with training plans devised by our training manager to address their training needs.
