This is an exciting time to join the Care of the Older Person department, which is looking to appoint a Consultant Physician to expand the team to seven consultants. This is to realise the vision of enhancing models of care provided to non-elective patients, improving the Orthogeriatric service and developing other specialised geriatric services e.g. Parkinsons Disease service.
The new consultant workforce plan for Care of the Older Person Team is a principle priority of the Unscheduled Care Division’s clinical strategy- a commitment to increasing the consultant workforce to deliver enhanced care in new ways, in line with clinical evidence, ensuring early and consistent input by consultants to improve patient outcomes and deliver an effective consultant led rehabilitation service.

The successful candidates will join a well-established team of six Care of the Older Person Consultants, progressing the service for Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre residents across Blackpool Victoria Hospital (Inpatient Wards) and Clifton Hospital (Rehabilitation)
