Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents – it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.

Our strategic vision for 2020 is:

As a high performing Trust, operating as part of an integrated care system, we will provide high quality, safe and effective care. This will be achieved in a financially sustainable way, through our skilled and motivated workforce”.

The Fylde Coast Accountable Care Partnership (ACP) as part of the Lancashire & South Cumbria Accountable Care System is looking to appoint a Strategic Director of People.

The ACP comprises a number of partners including Blackpool Clinical Commissioning Group, Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The partnership also works closely with its associate partners, Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council.

Its vision is to ‘Improve Health and Care Together’ and this unique role will require the successful candidate to work across a range of health and care organisations. The role will be pivotal in designing and implementing the Workforce and OD strategy to support the transformation of the Fylde Coast health and care workforce as well as ensuring delivery of a first class operational HR and OD service.

At a time of unprecedented challenge across the health service, the ACP has recognised that it needs an exceptional system leader to drive this transformation.  Reporting to the Chief Executive of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals – and as a key member of the senior management team – the Strategic Director of People for the Fylde Coast ACP will support delivery of the Fylde Coast Local Delivery Plan.

You will demonstrate excellence in leadership at a senior level in a, complex multi-sited organisation, will understand the current challenges facing the health and care sectors, and will appreciate the opportunities presented by the development of an ACP.

Applications should be received by 5.00 pm on Friday 16th February 2018.  Successful candidates will be invited to attend an assessment centre and interview in March 2018.
