Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Patient Flow Manager within the division of Unscheduled Care. This post is open for a clinical person who has the drive and ambition to support a fast paced and dynamic service that plays a crucial role supporting the patients and staff in unscheduled care, focusing on quality of care, patient safety and customer care by enabling the timely and appropriate use of capacity. This is an appointment with managerial responsibility in the absence of the Patient Flow Manager of a small team and accountability for clinical and operational processes. The post holder must work with the divisional senior management team to ensure that an efficient and seamless service is delivered to patients across specialities, ensuring optimal capacity and they must have the ability to deploy available resources effectively to meet the strategic aims of the division. Also to take a supporting role in designing and implementing processes, policies and procedures for new service developments to effectively accommodate changes needed to ensure this service is able to meet the ever changing demands.  The role will encompass mostly day shifts; however has the possibility of night and weekend shifts if required by demand.
