Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents – it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.

Our strategic vision for 2020 is:

As a high performing Trust, operating as part of an integrated care system, we will provide high quality, safe and effective care. This will be achieved in a financially sustainable way, through our skilled and motivated workforce”.

This role is ringfenced, and applicable to colleagues who are currently working within one of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System partner health organisations, including CCGs, Trusts, NHS England and Midlands and Lancashire CSU. This post will work as part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System and will be offered on a secondment basis until 31 March 2020. Applicants should ensure they have the support of their employer prior to submitting an application.

Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria (HLSC) is the partnership of NHS, Local Authority, Public Sector and voluntary and community organisations working together to improve outcomes for and the care of everyone living in Lancashire and South Cumbria (L&SC).

We are at an exciting point in our journey, building on the Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria change programme to develop and establish our integrated care system (ICS). HLSC partners are collaborating to lead, support and facilitate a work programme which will efficiently transform health and care services in a way which improves the lives of people in the area and delivers a better experience for patients.

The Post Holder will support two ICS Executives and will work in the wider ICS Corporate Business Office. To be successful in this role you will be primarily responsible for providing a high quality, effective and efficient secretarial and administration service to the ICS Executives on a range of internal and external tasks, programmes and projects. You will be required to deliver administrative and secretarial services; including for example, sorting and prioritising all incoming mail, drafting responses, diary management, prioritising appointments as appropriate, organising, administrating and minuting meetings. You will also be required to support the ICS Corporate Business Manager in ensuring the ICS corporate business is delivered effectively.

You will need to be an enthusiastic individual with a flexible approach to this demanding role, and above all share our passion to provide the best possible health and care to local people
